Exhibition Statement
The image is blurred. The side lines of the volumes are lost in the surrounding space. The eyes search through shapes and colors to match cues with familiar images in the mind. This is an exaggerated description of the state of looking at a view through the bleary-eyes.
In this collection of works, I sought to discover unconventional images of the conventional scenes of my daily life. For this purpose, I came up with the idea of using the reflection of the scenery on different surfaces. In these experiences, from the reflection of landscapes on opaque polished surfaces, I reached ambiguous and blurred images that simultaneously conveyed a combination of familiar and vague feeling and needed the active participation of the audience's eyes and mind to be completed. Since I was a child, I was interested in discovering shapes in the design and texture of different surfaces and connecting them with each other, and I enjoyed extracting virtual stories from them. The game of the mind to guess and complete the forms in these images reminded me of these experiences, which I transpired in my paintings.
