Exhibition Statement

 Silence and Tranquility

The house, its walls, and the objects enclosed within them have become the subjects of my drawings. The soft textures of fabrics alongside the rough textures of tables and chairs mirror the contrasting emotions and feelings I have experienced within these walls. In “Silence and Tranquility”, through the gray tonalities of charcoal, I aim to represent place-based experiences.

“Silence and Tranquility” captures fleeting moments of light and shadow that bring the house to life. The movement of light across silent, motionless objects reflects an eerie calm within, contrasted with the frenzied tension outside. For me, this represents the encounter between self and other, light and shadow, past and future, interior and exterior.
