Exhibition Statement

I have heard several times that someone has recited my memories as their own. I know that I do the same too, unintentionally. In our experiences of joys and sorrows, we are more interwoven than we realize or imagine. In our stories and the stories of others, our dreams and even the books we have read, we have a constant and often unreal presence. Maybe we are not more than a single person in the whole world and throughout the history.

In this collection, I have tried to depict this ever-changing world of the mind. A world of moments that I remember in color, scent, and all its details, even though I have never been there. Also, moments that I have experienced myself while they are blurry and vague to me.

To reconstruct these scenes, I turned to old photos and with the help of a projector and playing with the space of rooms, doors, curtains, animals, and people, tried to capture moments in photographs as much as I could and added what couldn't be captured in the final execution; hoping to depict a sustainable and shared human experience through the play of light, shadow, and color."
